Once again nice effort by all. Mad Dawgs 34 Western Brown 0 (10-18-08) Nice game Mad Dawgs! You showed up and you played a great game. You kept the fight up for (4) quarters, pitching the shutout and avenging the 18-0 loss the Broncos put on us last year. Evan Schlosser get that foot better so we can see you on the field soon. Mad Dawgs 8 Harrison 6 (10-25-08) Overtime What a game! The Mad Dawgs and Wildcats fought it out to a regualtion tie at 0-0. The Wildcats got the ball first in overtime and scored. The Mad Dawgs defense though held the Wildcats on the conversion, leaving the score 6-0. The Mad Dawgs got the ball and fumbled on the first play, but recovered to keep the game alive. After two failed attempts the Mad Dawgs were facing a 4th and 9 yards to score or lose. Logan Farwick made a nice cut inside and kicked it outside, crossing the goal line to tie the game at 6-6. The crowd was going crazy! On the conversion to the Wildcats surprise a Mad Dawgs lineman Evan Bell came out of the backfield like a steam roller to score, clinching the victory for the Mad Dawgs and a #2 or #3 seed in the playoffs. The Mad Dawg players and coaches stormed the field in celebration. Way to fight boys!! Mad Dawgs 0 Glen Este 6 (11-1-08) Great game Mad Dawgs. Glen Este got the late score, but the game could have been much different. We will leave it at that. Regroup we get them again this week in the playoffs. (#3 seed) Mad Dawgs 12 Glen Este 14 (11-9-08 PLAYOFFS) Mad Dawgs we got off to a rough start allowing Glen Este to score twice in the 1st half and take a 14-0 lead. Some of you were sick and some were hurt, yet your efforts were above what anyone could have expected. You regrouped at halftime and came out with an attitude to win the game in the second half. You dominated the second half scoring twice, while not allowing Glen Este to move the ball. You fought hard late in the game and got the ball back again and drove deep into Glen Este's territory only for the clock to run out before we had that last chance. Health and time were not on our side today, but their was plenty of heart around. Your efforts in the second half will never be forgotten as you worked hard as a team, and came so close to going to the Super Bowl. Know that Glen Este went on to defeat Colerain in the Super Bowl 18-0. Use that to make you work that much harder in 2009. Your work over this long 2008 season was outstanding as you compiled a 10-3 record overall. We had several new players join us in our second season as the Mad Dawgs. We are a team, and we will build on that each year going forward. Be proud of yourselves and hold your head high, you did well. As coaches will will miss seeing you in the weeks to come, but before you know it, we will once again being playing Mad Dawg football and setting out on a new championship journey for 2009. Have a great offseason, continue your success in all you do. FH Mad Dawgs Coaches
2007 Season in review The 2007 season, our first under the name "Mad Dawgs". In 2007 we welcomed (11) new players and there families to our team. In 2007 we were succesful in all aspects of the game. We quickly came together as a team and this showed with preseason victories over Guardian Angles in the Bernie Bowl and Bridgetown in the St. Jude's Bowl. The SOYFA season opened at Delhi and we came out with the same enthusiasm we showed in the preseason and began the season with a 22-0 victory. In week 2 we kept things rolling with a win over Sycamore 20-0 at Anderson's Brown Stadium. Week 3 brought Reading into Anderson's Brown Stadium. We were fired up for Reading after dropping two games to them in 2006 and came away with an impressive victory 16-8. Week 4 sent us to Harrison where we continued playing tough nose football, however this time we went scoreless in regulation and the first division game of the season went to sudden death. We never quit fighting in sudden death, but we came up short and suffered our first defeat of the season 6-0. In week 5 the 2006 SOYFA Super Bowl Champions Colerain Little Cards came to Anderson's Brown Stadium. These Mad Dawgs were ready for a fight and played some tough football, with the game going to sudden death tied 6-6. Colerain scored quickly in sudden death, leaving the Mad Dawgs to answer. Yet, we came up short for the second week in a row. In week 6 we faced our third division opponent in consecutive weeks when we traveled to face the West Clermont Chiefs. The Mad Dawgs took and early lead with an interception for a touchdown. Through four quarters both teams fought hard, but in the end the attacking defense of the Chiefs won out 20-12. In week 7 Western Brown came to Anderson's Brown Stadium and again the momentum swung the other way with Western Brown taking home the victory 18-0. Week 8 gave the Mad Dawgs a much needed bye and time to regroup after four battled tested weeks of football. It was time for us to start over and regain the momentum we had early in the season. Week 9 we visited Wyoming, where we found our old form and played a great game, coming home victorious 22-0. The 2007 regular season had ended and we were rewarded with a #4 seed in the North Division Playoffs. Our opponent was the mighty Colerain Little Cards, the defending 2006 North Division Super Bowl Champions. On a cold November morning we set out on a new goal to be Super Bowl Champions. Our Mad Dawgs came out and played with a lot of pride, however the mighty Colerain Little Cards were too much for us on this day and they went victorious. Our heads were held high as we completed our first season as the Mad Dawgs with a 7-5-0 overall record and made the playoffs.
