Mad Dawgs win St. Jude's Bowl

The Mad Dawgs won the coin toss and decided to take the field on defense. Bridgetown began their initial drive 1 st and 10 on their own 40 yard line. Bridgetown gained 4 yard over the right side to leave them with a 2 nd and 6 on their own 44 yard line. Bridgetown was flagged for illegal procedure on 2 nd down leaving them with 2 nd and 10 on their own 40 yard line. The Mad Dawgs led by #72 Schlosser forced a fumble, which Bridgetown recovered. Bridgetown was faced with a 3 rd and 14 on their own 36 yard line. Bridgetown managed to gain 7 yards on third down, however were forced to punt the ball to the Mad Dawgs on 4 th down.

The Mad Dawgs first offensive series began with 1 st and 10 on their own 31 yard line. The offense struggled with three bad snaps resulting in fumbles. The Mad Dawgs after no gain were forced to punt back to Bridgetown.

Bridgetown took over with good field position on their 43 yard line Mad Dawgs defense once again held Bridgetown this time to negative yards forcing Bridgetown to punt.

The Mad Dawgs took over with 1 st and 10 on their own 30 yard line. #24 Schaeffer went off the right side for a 29 yard gain setting up 1 st and 10 on the Mad Dawgs 49 yard line. After gaining a combined four yards on the next three plays the Mad Dawgs were faced with a 4 th and 7 on Bridgetown's 47 yard line. #7 Donnell's dropped back to pass to the right to #19 Williams, however Bridgetown made a ply and intercepted the ball.

After the turnover Bridgetown took over on their 37 yard line. On 1 st and 10 on their own 37 yard line Bridgetown ran up the middle for a 3 yard gain. On 2 nd and 7 on their own 40 yard line they ran left for a 65 yard touchdown, on a play fake to the fullback up the middle. On the ensuing 2 point conversion the Mad Dawgs #7 Donnell's made a tackle in the backfield denying Bridgetown the conversion.

The Mad Dawgs took over with 1 st and 10 on their own 40 yard line. #24 Schaeffer ran right for an 11 yard gain setting up 1 st and 10 on Bridgetown's 49 yard line. On 1 st down #7 Donnell's attempted a pass to #81 Campbell, which fell incomplete. On 2 nd down the Mad Dawgs #24 Schaeffer ran left for an 8 yard gain setting up 3 rd and 2 on Bridgetown's 41 yard line. Again, #24 Schaeffer ran left for 12 yard gain setting up a 1 st and 10 on Bridgetown's 33 yard line. After a 5 yard illegal procedure penalty the Mad Dawgs #33 Jones gained 19 yards up the middle on 1 st and 15. On the resulting 1 st down #7 Donnell's gained 2 yards on the QB keeper. After gaining combined 4 yards on 2 nd and 3 rd downs the Mad Dawgs were faced with a 4 th and 4 on Bridgetown's 10 yard line. Led by some solid blocking by the Mad Dawgs line #24 Schaeffer went off the right side for 10 yard touchdown. On the ensuing 2 point conversion #24 Schaeffer again ran right behind solid blocking for the conversion. The score now was Mad Dawgs 8 Bridgetown 6.

Bridgetown now trailing the Mad Dawgs began with a 1 st and 10 on Bridgetown's 40 yard line. The Mad Dawgs defense was poised to again stop Bridgetown holding them and forcing Bridgetown to punt on 4 th and 5 on the Mad Dawgs 48 yard line.

The Mad Dawgs got the ball back and ran out the clock to capture the St. Jude's Bowl trophy and to move to 2-0 on the season.

The Mad Dawgs struggled offensivly early but fought back and led a very impressive drive with great blocking by the line that led to a 10 yard touchdown and go ahead two point conversion. These Mad Dagws showed they will not back down and will play hard to the end. Great job boys.
