Mad Dawgs defeat Delhi 22-0

The Mad Dawgs lost the coin toss and started the game on defense.

Delhi's initial drive began 1st and 10 on their own 40 yard line. On 1st down nose tackle #72 Schlosser busts through the line for the QB sack and a loss of 4 yards. On 2nd and 14 Delhi ran up the middle only to be stopped for no gain by #50 Price and #81 Campbell. 3rd and 14 had Delhi scrambling and again at the snap the Mad Dawgs pressure was felt as #78 Griffin got a hold of the quarterback's ankles and #72 Schlosser finished the tackle off for a 5 yard loss. Delhi faced with a 4th and 19 punted.

The Mad Dawgs began their first offensive series on their own 41. #7 Donnell's handed off to #24 Schaeffer who ran right behind pancake blocks by the offensive line for a 28 yard gain. The offensive line just dominated Delhi on the first snap, as it looked like a barge plowed through the defense. The Mad Dawgs now had 1st & 10 on Delhi's 31. Again, #7 Donnell's handed off to #24 Schaeffer over the right side for a 4 yard gain. On 2nd & 7 on Delhi's 27 #7 Donnell's ran the QB keeper to the left but was stopped for a 3 yard loss by Delhi. Facing 3rd and 9 on Delhi's 30 #24 Schaeffer took the handoff to the right side and went the distance for the touchdown; however a flag had been thrown for illegal block by the Mad Dawgs. Now facing 3rd and 9 on Delhi's 31 #7 Donnell's dropped back and completed an 11 yard pass to his left end #81 Campbell, only for another flag to fly this time for illegal man downfield. After two penalties the Mad Dawgs had 3rd and 14 on Delhi's 36 where #7 Donnell's dropped back and threw to his right end #19 Williams only for the ball to fall incomplete, yet again another flag for illegal man downfield. Now facing 4th and 14 on Delhi's 36 #24 Schaeffer took the handoff over the right side for a 10 yard gain and the Mad Dawgs turn the ball over on downs.

Delhi takes the field for their second drive with 1st and 10 on their own 36. Delhi tries to run right but after pressure by #72 Schlosser and running into their own player they are stopped for no gain. On 2nd and 10 Delhi tried the middle only to find #78 Griffin charging through and stopping Delhi for a 5 yard loss. Now faced with 3rd and 15 on their own 26 Delhi tried the right side again where #78 Griffin again blasted through the line making the tackle and forcing the fumble. Delhi recovered the fumble and was forced to punt on 4th and 15.

The Mad Dawgs took over for their second offensive series with great field position on Delhi's 46. On first down #33 Jones took the inside handoff and busted ahead for 9 yards only to be stripped of the ball and turning the ball back over to Delhi.

Delhi began its third offensive series on their own 39. At the snap #72 Schlosser burst through the line and got the QB sack for a 3 yard loss. Man these Mad Dawgs play defense! On 2nd and 13 on their own 36 Delhi again tried the right side only to find #29 Cogliano who made the hit and forced the fumble which #33 Jones recovered. The Mad Dawgs take over again with great field position.

On 1st and 10 on Delhi's 36 #24 Schaeffer ran up the middle behind the blocking of#15 Kosman and #33 Jones for a 7 yard gain. On 2nd & 3 #33 Jones busted up the middle for a 12 yard gain. On 1st and 10 on Delhi's 17 #7 Donnell's ran the QB keeper to the right for an 8 yard gain. Facing 2nd & 2 #24 Schaeffer ran again off the right side breaking tackles for a 10 yard touchdown. On the 2 point conversion #24 Schaeffer went back to the powerful right side only to be stopped short of converting.

Mad Dawgs 6 Delhi 0

Delhi had a 1st and 10 on their own 40 where they ran a QB keeper to the right side for a 2 yard gain. On 2nd and 8 again Delhi tried the QB keeper to the right side only to be stopped for a 5 yard loss by #7 Donnell's and #33 Jones. Facing 3rd and 13 on their own 37 Delhi tried the QB keeper again, however this time they went left where #15 Kosman introduced himself with the tackle for a 2 yard loss. Delhi again stuck with a fourth down this time 4th and 15 on their own 35 they decided to punt.

The Mad Dawgs began their next offensive series on their own 40. #24 Schaeffer ran over the left side for a 1 yard gain. On 2nd & 9 #7 Donnell's dropped back to pass to his left end #81 Campbell, which was intercepted by Delhi.

Delhi took over 1st and 10 on 50. On 1st down they ran right for a gain of 6 yards. On 2nd & 4 #72 Schlosser bursts through the line for the sack and a 3 yard loss. Facing 3rd and 7 Delhi tried the left side where #81 Campbell made the tackle for a 3 yard loss. Delhi decided to go for it on 4th and 10 from the 50 where they ran over the left side and #33 Jones made the tackle for a 2 yard loss.

Mad Dawgs had 1st and 10 at the 50 where #7 Donnell's ran the QB keeper left for an 8 yard gain. On 2nd & 2 #7 Donnell's fumbled the snap and was tackled for no gain. 3rd and 2 on Delhi's 40 #33 Jones ran left for a 3 yard gain and a Mad Dawgs 1st down. #7 Donnell's dropped back to pass to the right to his right end #19 Williams where the pass fell incomplete. Facing 2nd & 10 on Delhi's 37 #33 Jones ran left for a 10 yard gain led by solid blocks by his offensive line. Time expired on the Mad Dawgs drive and halftime came.

Mad Dawgs 6 Delhi 0

The Mad Dawgs began the second half with the ball on their own 40. #24 Schaeffer again ran off the right side behind solid blocks by #57 Riley, #72 Schlosser and #19 Williams and broke a tackle for a 60 yard touchdown.

Mad Dawgs 12 Delhi 0

On the 2 point conversion #7Donnell's ran the QB keeper off the left side for the 2 point conversion.

Mad Dawgs 14 Delhi 0

Delhi began their 1st possession of the second half with the ball on their own 40 yard line. Delhi again tried the middle only to find #19 Williams and #33 Jones there to meet them for a 3 yard loss. On 2nd and 13 Delhi tried the right side where again #19 Williams made the tackle for a loss of 2 yards. Facing 3rd and 15 Delhi ran to the right where #33 Jones made the tackle for no gain. On 4th and 15 on their own 35 Delhi was forced to punt to the Mad Dawgs again.

The Mad Dawgs took over on their own 43. #24 Schaeffer ran left for a 6 yard gain. On 2nd down the Mad Dawgs had a false start. Facing 2nd and 9 from their own 44 again they false started. Now they were facing 2nd & 14 on their own 39 where #7 Donnell's fumbled and was tackled for a 2 yard loss. Stuck with a 3 rd & 16 on their own 37 they handed the ball off the right side to #74 Davidson for a 6 yard gain. The Made Dawgs punted on 4 th down.

Delhi took over on their own 31 where #33 Jones made a big tackle leaving Delhi to only gain 4 yards. On 2 nd & 6 Delhi fumbled the snap and lost a yard. On 3 rd & 7 on their own 34 they tried the left side where #12 Scroggan's made the tackle for a gain of 4 yards. Facing 4 th and 3 on their own 38 Delhi gambled and went for it running right where #7 Donnell's closed in a hurry and stopped them for a 7 yard loss.

The Mad Dawgs took over with great field position and 1 st and 10 on Delhi's 31. #9 Buchannon took the handoff the slot position over the left side for a gain on 11 yards. On 1 st down a fumbled snap picked up by #7 Donnell's who went up the middle for a 9 yard gain. Facing 1 st & 10 on Delhi's 11 #74 Davidson took the handoff over the right side for a 7 yard gain. Now 2 nd & goal from the 4 #7 Donnell's took the QB keeper up the middle for a 4 yard touchdown.

On the 2 point conversion #28 Keith took the handoff from the slot position over the left side for the conversion.

Mad Dawgs 22 Delhi 0

Delhi would get the ball back on their own 40 and make a 9 play 44 yard drive only to be stopped on the last play by #19 Williams as time ran out.
