This page is to be utilized by all Forest Hills Coaches for reference as to the requirements to coach for Forest Hill Youth Football
BACKGROUND CHECKS: Every FHYF volunteer of a named position must apply for a background check using NCSI. Please, (click here) for complete directions on how to complete the background screening process. Cost per volunteer is $21.50. Screenings are good for two years. Coaches will be notified by letter whether they have been permitted to coach for the current season. All volunteers must have the screenign process completed by July 25th to volunteer for FHYF in 2009.
SOYFAI 2009 Coaches Contract
FHYF COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT:
- Practices should be controlled with proper supervision and safety the first priority.
- Practices may only occur at Ayer Elementary or Veteran's Park. This is done due to insurance purposes.
- All coaches will abide by the Forest Hills Heat Guidelines.
- Coaches are required to provide adequate water breaks and rest breaks.
- All scrimmages and or games not held under the direction of Forest Hills must be approved by the Director of Coaches.
- Coaches are responsible for field equipment being used by there team. This includes making sure the equipment shed is secured.
- Parents should be notified by no later than 4:30 p.m. in the event practice is cancelled.
- Head Coaches are soley responsible for the actions of their players, parents and siblings of these players, and assistant coaches.
- Head Coaches should report any violations or problems to the Director of Coaches or an Executive Board member.
- Forest Hills Youth Football places great trust and responsibility among there coaches. This trust and responibility should not be deemed as an open invitation to make rules that violate Forest Hill Youth Football By-laws or League rules.
- Head Coaches have the ability to control playing time of participants. SOYFAI is a competitive league, however at the same time the league is structured with two divisions with separate post seasons. Significant opportunity for playing is available due to the league structure and coaches should be conscious of this fact.
LEAGUE
- Any problems that may occur before, during, or after a league game or league event are to be reported to the League Representative.
- Incidents occurring during games with officials or opposing teams should be reported to the League Representative. Proof should be provided if the incident involves a call or action made by officials during the course of play.
- Head Coaches are responsible to control their players, coaches, volunteers on the field, and fans. Should the League Representative be presented that a specific team violated rules imposed by our league, the head coach will come in front of the Executive Board for disciplinary reasons and may also be required to present themselves to the League Board
